CA has executed a number of turnkey projects – identifying areas for computerisation, computer selection, design and development of computer based information systems.

CA carries out computer audit for information systems to ensure compliance with appropriate standards, procedures and controls.

IT Projects executed

  • A turnkey project for a manufacturing company with a turnover of over Rs.20 million.  The factory, the branch offices and the corporate head office have been networked and information systems have been developed covering stock accounting, production planning, sales invoicing & despatch, statutory excise levy accounting, marketing information, financial accounting, accounts receivable and payable.
  • Identifying the information and re-engineering requirements for a leading national newspaper published in very many centers all over India.
  • Design and development of a Hire Purchase Information System interlinked with the Interest calculation and Financial Accounting Package.
  • Design and development of a Sales Information System for a leading Automobile Ancillary Manufacturing Company.
  • Design and development of an integrated Material Management and Production Planning & Scheduling system including Sub-contracting for a Forging Unit.
  • Design and development of Customs & Excise case law database for storage and retrieval of case laws.
  • Design and development of an Excise Accounting & Sales Invoicing package to produce the books of excise accounts in accordance with statutory formats.
  • Audit of a hospital’s information system and database maintained on an on-line, real-time basis.
  • A business continuity plan for a large corporate body whose transactions were maintained on a real-time basis, to ensure continuity of critical information services and back-up strategies of computer hardware, software, data and other resources.
  • Development of a comprehensive Fee Management and Financial Accounting system for a school with over 5000 students.

Certain of key the persons

Ms. Sheila Anand :

An Engineer with a Doctorate in computer science and a Madras University top ranker, she has considerable amount of experience in computer software development and audit of computer systems. She is a qualified Certified Information’s Systems Auditor (CISA) of the Information Systems Control & Audit Association, U.S.A.
Earlier she had served as a Systems Executive in ICIM, the Indian subsidiary of ICL, U.K. and was invited by the parent company ICL, to participate in the development of specialized software for the manufacturing industry.

She has had the opportunity to work with large public sector bodies like the Railways and Telephones.  She has worked extensively on mainframe, mini and personal computers. She is also an expert on networking and communications.

She had worked as a consultant at the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), where she had developed many tailor made courseware and conducted several seminars for the top management, middle management and users.

She is a member of Professional Institutes like the Information System Audit and Control Association, U.S.A. (ISACA), IEEE, IETE and the Computer Society of India.  She has been invited to present papers in various seminars organized by ISACA and IEEE.  

She is a visiting faculty at the Bharthidasan Institute of Management, Trichy.  She is a faculty for training courses organised by ISACA, Madras chapter for candidates for the CISA examination.

Ms. Janaki Kumar :

An Engineer with a Masters degree in computer science she has considerable experience in computer software development and training. She has served in the Management Services Division at ITC Bangalore, which is responsible for the computerisation of the entire Company.  Her responsibilities included the development and maintenance of on-line database-oriented commercial systems, evolving standards for software development and training.  She has considerable experience in software development for Textile and Construction Companies.

Mr. P.K.Ramanan :

He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India having also passed the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination of USA. He is a certified Information Systems Auditor with over 25 years of experience in an engineering industry as the head of the Systems and Finance Division.  He is a visiting faculty at Bharathidasan Institute of Management and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).  He has presented several papers at conferences conducted by the Chartered Accountants Institute and other professional bodies.
